You've no doubt come across article directories before as some of the more popular ones rank highly for certain terms in the search engines. Ezine articles is probably the largest, however there are thousands of article directories on the internet. Article directories work in the following manner:

  • Anyone can submit an article on almost any topic to the article directory (typically the purpose of the article is to promote something)
  • At the bottom of the article, the author will include information and links about themselves or the product or service they want to promote
  • Once submitted the article is reviewed by owner/editor of the article directory to ensure it complies with the terms of service
  • By submitting the article the author relinquishes any rights to the article and it can be reprinted by anyone for free however the information/links at the bottom of the article must stay intact
Article marketing provides a benefit to all parties that are involved. The author/writer (in this case you) receives exposure for the service/product they are promoting, the article directory grows their database of articles, and webmasters without time to write articles have free access to large databases of free articles.

So now you're thinking "Ok, so I have to spend the time to write articles and submit them to the different directories". You can definately do that if writing is a skill you possess or enjoy or you can follow the "easier" way by using the method we outline below (see a pattern developing? We will give you the step by step process to get you started!).

Rather than writing your own articles from scratch, which can be difficult and time consuming, we suggest you find at least 10 articles relevant to life insurance. Rewrite the articles by changing at least 50% of it. Once you've done this for each of your articles you can start submitting the articles to the different article directories. Article Marketer also has a free service where you can submit your artilces to 29 sites. Its up to you if you want to spend the money or not, however the value should speak for itself. The key here is that if your article is submitted to over 4000 sites and then gets used by a number of webmasters, you can generate hundreds or even thousands of links back to your website, which, in turn will develop into many life insurance leads.
